Schiller DuCanto & Fleck is pleased to announce that Senior Partner Anita Ventrelli was a featured panelists on the CLE programs, “Family Lawyers Guide to Confidentiality Agreements and Protective Orders,” “Limiting Access to Court Files,” and “Trial Practice – Frye/Daubert” at the 2022 National Annual Meeting hosted by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) at Chicago Lowes Hotel on November 10-12, 2022.As part of the insightful panel discussion, “Family Lawyers Guide to Confidentiality Agreements and Protective Orders,” Anita delved into the complexities of cases involving high-profile clients and the substantial financial and business knowledge that is required to handle the highly sensitive matter of protecting a client’s privacy, particularly with respect to the digital age. The discussion focused on the strategic considerations as well as best practices for advising clients on confidentiality agreements and protective orders. The conversation also centered around when it is appropriate to heighten the level of protection and what provisions should be taken, as well as which measures should be avoided. The panelists presented a comprehensive confidentiality agreements/protective orders guide to follow in family law cases which also included the limits regarding the protection of client privacy.During the presentation on “Limiting Access to Court Files,” Anita shared insights on best practices for persuading the courts to grant limitation on access to court files, creative approaches to have all or a portion of a court file sealed or suppressed, and considerations to factor in when working with a jurisdiction where suppression of public access is not favored.The session on “Trial Practice – Frye/Daubert” focused on the process of crafting compelling legal arguments on both making and defending Frye and Daubert challenges to expert testimony. The presentation included a mock oral argument before a judicial officer which went in-depth on practical “how to” points to utilize within practice.Anita has served as Fellow of the AAML for 25 years.
