Leslie Auslander, a partner at Schiller DuCanto & Fleck, passed away April 18 at the age of 36 after a courageous battle with cancer. Leslie will be forever remembered as a loving wife to her husband, Stewart Auslander, and as an embracing stepmother to Spencer and Mason. She was born in Waterloo, Iowa, the eldest of four children, to her father Bruce and mother Marilyn. Leslie is survived by her parents, brother Josh (Lindsey) and two younger sisters, Tiffany and Stacey.Leslie’s colleagues emphasized her abiding loyalty and commitment to her clients. Even when she was ill, Leslie insisted on working from home and continued to check in on her cases to ensure her clients were being well taken care of. Leslie loved practicing law and helping her clients and their children. She was a passionate advocate for her clients, taking on their challenges and causes as if they were her own. She patiently explained each possible course of action so her clients could make the right decision for their families.Leslie joined Schiller DuCanto & Fleck in October 2012 and was named partner in December 2017. She received her Juris Doctorate from Drake University Law School after receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University. Leslie dedicated her career exclusively to family law, representing business owners, executives, professional athletes, entertainers and their spouses. She was selected as a Leading Lawyer and Best Lawyers in America in 2015. Leslie was named by Super Lawyers Magazine as a Rising Star in 2010 and from 2013 – 2017 by her peers in the legal community."Since our firm began, we’ve had the good fortune of having a team of attorneys that represent the highest quality of people. She often represented the firm in "Race Judicata" benefitting the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services Foundation in their mission to ensure that the law works for everyone. A life-long sports fan, Leslie stayed on top of NCAA basketball and NFL standings, and was a country music aficionado.Leslie was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
