Schiller DuCanto & Fleck is pleased to announce that partner Michele M. Jochner, Chair of the Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Board of the Illinois Supreme Court, recently shared insights on “Effective Board Engagement” as part of a panel discussion hosted by the national Continuing Legal Education Regulators Association (CLEReg) on August 17, 2021.The panel discussion centered the conversation on the responsibilities, expectations and duties required from board members in order to continue to effect positive change within the legal field. Appointed as Chair of the MCLE Board in 2019 and having served as a Board member since 2014, Michele is passionate about her commitment to legal education. In 2020, Michele spearheaded the development of the new online MCLE portal which allows Illinois lawyers to track their MCLE credits with a goal of improving convenience and accuracy in credit reporting.Michele also is the immediate past-Chair of the Dean’s Advisory Council at DePaul University College of Law, and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Scribes – The American Society of Legal Writers, as well as for the Center for Conflict Resolution (CCR). She believes that a successful board member recognizes the importance of giving back to the community, and works to promote excellence and improvements in the profession. Michele has received numerous recognitions for her achievements, with the most recent honor being her selection for the 2020 inaugural class of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Law by Law Bulletin Media for her mentorship, success and leadership in the legal community.
